I love a good list, and this one is excellent. Here are the top ten most-downloaded books on BitTorrent this year. (via FreakBits)

2. Adobe Photoshop Secrets
3. The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Amazing Sex
4. The Lost Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci
5. Solar House — A Guide for the Solar Designer
6. Before Pornography — Erotic Writing in Early Modern England
7. Twilight — Complete Series
8. How to Get Anyone to Say YES — The Science of Influence
9. Nude Photography — The Art and the Craft
10. Fix It — How to Do All Those Little Repair Jobs Around the Home

Okay, the Idiot’s Guide to Sex seems like a no-brainer here, followed closely in obviousness by the Kama Sutra and Nude Photography. Twilight is a category unto itself.

I could believe that the class of people who are thinking of using solar power (or at least thinking of reading about it) overlaps with the class of people who download books by torrent.

But da Vinci? Really? Is this a tie-in to The Da Vinci Code? Are people lusting after the naked guy in the circle? I don’t get it.

Same with #6. Pornography…got it. Erotic Writing…got it. Early Modern England…what? Maybe the title was too long and got cut off before the end? Maybe this is the first book that comes up in a search for “erotic pornography”?

On second thought, there are gazillions of dead-tree romance novels out there, so maybe romance aficionados are grabbing up the ultimate “authentic” bodice-ripper. Well shucks, now I’m curious. Further research seems to be in order.

Also, I really want to see the next 90 books on this list. My interest has been piqued.
